Louise Suggs helped build women's professional golf from nothing. As a founding member of the LPGA in 1950, she didn't just play tournaments - she helped organize them, promote them, and convince sponsors that women's golf was worth supporting. The 11 majors and 58 career wins came while she was also serving on the LPGA board. Her 1949 U.S. Women's Open victory, won by 14 strokes, remains the largest margin in that championship's history. She was the first woman to break 70 in a major, a barrier that seemed impossible until she did it. The feisty Georgian could clash with fellow founders, but her commitment to women's golf never wavered.
