Jan Železný threw the javelin farther and more consistently than anyone in history. Three consecutive Olympic golds (1992-2000), three World Championship golds, and a world record of 98.48m that stood from 1996 to 2024. For over a decade, the Czech master was untouchable in his event, combining perfect technique with explosive power. The javelin is one of athletics' oldest disciplines; Železný made it look like he'd reinvented it.
